Other Forms of Human Trafficking
Sex trafficking and labour trafficking are the most common in Canada but there are other forms of trafficking that occur as well:
Forced Criminality
Forcing someone to engage in known-illegal activities such as drug smuggling, selling drugs, or theft for the traffickers sole benefit.
Forced Begging
Forcing an individual to beg for money and then turn over their profit to their trafficker.
Organ Trafficking
An individual is forced to sell an organ and never get paid, they may be forced into donating an organ, or the organ may be removed unknowingly to them during a medical procedure.
Forced Marriage
This occurs when someone is forced to marry against their will, under pressure, or without giving their full consent.
Forced Surrogacy
An individual is forced or deceived into giving birth to a child on behalf of another person or couple.
